#06id093 - INDONESIA 70-year-old Hasana a TSUNAMI survivo lives with 4-year-old grand daughter Aniah Nabila, who still suffers severe trauma from the experience and having lost her parents. Photograph taken in Aceh Province mid-December 2006, 2 years after the Tsunami of December 26th 2004 devastated much of the coastal region. Taken to illustrate reconstruction work and projects of CRS (Catholic Relief Services) of USA who sponsored the photo tour. Hasana’s testimony: "I was selling vegetables in the market at the time of the Tsunami, and ran to the nearby mosque to shelter. I lost my daughter and older grandson. Anisah is the only grandchild who survived. She was found floating in water and was brought back to the village. We have already been 3 months in this (CRS) house, and it is comfortable. We have a shallow well, but the water is not really good. Drinking water gets delivered to the community by truck, for now."

#06id095 - INDONESIA 7-year-old Amalul Alif(orange check shirt) lives nearby in a CRS house registered in his own name. He lost both parents to the Tsunami, but now lives in the house with an aunt, 29-year-old Fitriah. Photograph taken in Aceh Province mid-December 2006, 2 years after the Tsunami of December 26th 2004 devastated much of the coastal region. Taken to illustrate reconstruction work and projects of CRS (Catholic Relief Services) of USA who sponsored the photo tour. Fitriah’s testimony: "The water rushed in from 7 km away, coming from two sides and hitting us with a clapping motion. It was devastating. I was in the volleyball court at the time. I have no idea how I survived. It was like a dream. I dont know how long I was under water. I was holding on to my daughters T-shirt. I still get afraid whenever I hear a strong wind or feel an earth tremor. The Tsunami sounded like an airplane, plus the sound of people screaming!"
